Future of petroleum engineers in this electric vehicle era

INTRODUCTION

Petroleum engineering, after listening word petroleum, everyone starts to imagine that ahh money-making job, a job with lots of perks, and a few think that there will be no future of petroleum engineers in the future, but let me tell you both are not true. Petroleum Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with oil and gas and the extraction of fossils and fuels. The main aim of this field is to maximize the output of fuels and natural gases from the wells and reserves. It is a must to have good knowledge of various work disciplines such as geophysics, petroleum geology, reservoir simulation, drilling, etc for researching this field.

It's the main duty or work of petroleum engineer to ensure that the overall process would be safe for everybody starting from physical laborers, to people living near to mine and at last to nature and surroundings and the third one that is the safety of nature is the main concern which is forwarding us to use electric vehicles in place of petroleum vehicles. But without these factors, another factor is cost efficiency in the whole process, which is the most important work of a petroleum engineer and which is one of the only biggest factors denying people not to use an electric vehicle. So we will explore more...

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A PETROLEUM ENGINEER?

    Petroleum engineering

Petroleum engineer is Vital to the global economy, currently, petroleum engineering is an exciting field full of opportunities to work, with various career options and golden paths open to engineers, they interact and do research with all types of people around the world and lives their life so luxuriously, during their tenure they have accessibility to travel exotic places and they roam around the world because of their work and research. you will be surprised to know that in between all types of engineers there are likely more chances of becoming a millionaire fastly if you are a Petroleum Engineer, they can make a handsome amount of money, but you should know that every coin has two sides, like this if there are so many pros of becoming a petroleum engineer their are few cons too, petroleum engineers have to undergo sometimes high-risk work in oil rings and wells, exposure to gases is toxic for everyone, infrastructure petroleum industry requires high and continuous maintenance.

INCREASING ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND PETROLEUM ENGINEERS

Electrification and digitalization are increasing across all industries and in the automobile industry it is obvious, but let me tell you one thing, petroleum engineers are not limited and rely only on the automobile industry, there are various other options too.

is electric vehicle is the future

Electric vehicles won't be a game-changer in a negative way to the petroleum engineers in the same way that mac was introduced for disrupt windows, but instead of that, high competition and more and more demand of both technologies increased, likely there will be no effect on oil and gas industry, they can co-exist. let me tell you few facts, in rapidly expanding economies of the world like India, China, it looks likes they are so desperate for electrification of their industries but if you look closer, these nations are investing massively in new refineries multi-billion dollar projects and research so that they can produce the vulnerable products for decades, they are also working with their full efficiency and money power in renewable and clean energy technologies to reduce the pollution, they do understand that it's not like a fairy tale and magic won't happen suddenly with electric cars still in future Nations will continuously depend on drive demand of oil and gas industry, in India, the president holds for 57% shares in all major oil and gas firms, these firms get huge investment and facilities by government and that's why the share prices are on the peak of all oil and gas companies, and they will increase further because it gives direct profit to the government. Traditional engines which run on old fuel depending methods are also becoming much more energy-efficient and easy to understand, they consume very less amount fuel compared to old-time and this efficiency would increase further if we compare them with electrical engines, I don't wanna sound biased but these engines win the race.

Maybe Electric vehicles-based companies can takeover control over metro cities, but in rural areas and normal urban areas where population density is high where, no one can beat traditional oil and gas-based engines.

    CONCLUSION

At last, I would like to conclude that nothing can we predict about the future but by viewing the current scenario there is not a single chance of extinction of petroleum engineers, opportunities will increase further by side to side...
